These conditions govern every rental agreement between Globo Rent a Car (the "Company") and the person collecting the vehicle (the "Renter"). By confirming a booking, the Renter declares having read and accepted them.
The Renter must present a valid driver’s license issued at least two years earlier, a passport or national ID, and a credit card in their own name. The minimum age is 25; drivers aged 21 to 24 pay a young-driver surcharge of US$10.00 per day. An international permit does not replace the original license from the country of origin.
Every booking requires a US$35.00 deposit. That deposit is refundable only if the booking is cancelled within the first 24 hours after it was made. After that period the deposit is non-refundable.
The booking fee is credited against the final amount as long as the vehicle is returned on time. If the vehicle is not returned within the agreed window, the fee is not credited and is applied toward the late-return penalty.
At pick-up a US$300.00 security hold is placed on the Renter’s credit card and released once the vehicle is returned undamaged, with no outstanding traffic fines and with the agreed fuel level. Rates are quoted in US dollars and may be paid in Dominican pesos at the day’s exchange rate.
A rental day is 24 hours counted from the pick-up time. A 59-minute grace period applies; beyond it a full extra day is charged. Rentals of 7 days or more receive 10% off and rentals of 30 days or more, 20%. Discounts cannot be combined with other promotions.
Delivery at the Globo Rent a Car office at Cibao International Airport (STI) is free of charge. Delivery at Las Américas Airport (SDQ) costs US$35.00 and at Punta Cana Airport (PUJ), US$55.00. The vehicle is handed over with an inspection signed by both parties, which is the reference condition for the return.
The vehicle must be returned in the same condition in which it was delivered, inside and out, and with the same amount of fuel.
If the vehicle is returned with less fuel, the fuel used is charged plus an additional US$25.00 handling fee for the time required to refill it. Deep cleaning for excessive dirt, sand, odours or upholstery damage is billed separately.
All rates include third-party liability insurance as required by Dominican law. Full damage coverage is optional and is purchased at pick-up. Insurance does not cover damage caused by driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, by drivers not listed on the contract, off authorised roads, nor damage to tires, glass and the underbody unless extended coverage is purchased.
The vehicle may only be driven by the persons listed on the contract. It may not be sublet, used for paid transport of passengers or cargo, entered in competitions, used for towing, used to carry illegal substances, taken out of the country or driven on roads unsuitable for the vehicle type. Any breach voids all coverage and entitles the Company to recover the vehicle without refund.
In the event of an accident, theft or breakdown, the Renter must immediately notify the Company and the authorities and obtain the corresponding police report. The Company provides 24-hour assistance nationwide, including towing and a replacement vehicle subject to availability. Repairs may not be arranged by the Renter without prior written approval.
Traffic fines, tolls and penalties incurred during the rental period are the Renter’s responsibility, even if notified after the return. The Company may charge them to the card on file plus a US$20.00 administrative fee per case.
Cancellations and changes are handled by writing to cancelations@globorentacar.com or via WhatsApp. Outside the 24-hour window described in clause 02, the booking deposit is non-refundable. Failing to show up at the agreed date and time is treated as a cancellation without refund.
Photographs and models shown are for reference: bookings are confirmed by category, so the vehicle delivered may be the one shown or a similar one in capacity and features. Published prices are estimates and are subject to written confirmation by the Company.
Data provided in the booking form is used solely to manage the rental and to contact the Renter by email or WhatsApp. It is never sold or shared with third parties, except where required by law or to process a claim with the insurer.
This agreement is governed by the laws of the Dominican Republic. Any dispute shall be heard by the competent courts of Santiago de los Caballeros, with express waiver of any other jurisdiction.
